Premier Energies Units Get 2,059 MW Solar Cell & Module Orders Worth ₹2,703 Cr

Hyderabad-based Premier Energies said its subsidiaries have secured supply orders worth Rs. 2,703 crore from new and existing customers. The firm might have felt compelled to offer this update on the back of volatility in its share price, linked to US investigations and tariffs on Indian manufacturers.  The firm also stressed that it is relatively decoupled from the US market when it comes to sales.

In a regulatory filing, Premier Energies discloses, "Orders aggregating to Rs. 2,703 Crores have been received and accepted for the supply of a total of 2,059 MW of solar photovoltaic modules and cells. This one-time order is expected to be executed in the FY 2026 and 2027.”

Premier Energies US Manufacturing Expansion Plans

Premier Energies’ latest announcement comes a month after it decided to put its proposed cell manufacturing plant in the United States (US) on hold.

Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies Limited, offered clarity on the company’s future plans during an investor call. He said, “It’s important to note that our business model is deeply anchored in the Indian market. Less than 1% of our total order book currently comes from the United States.”

When asked about the supply of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in India, Saluja said, “We are investing in a cell-to-pack containerized solution line. We have onboarded an experienced team, and the line should be commissioned by Q1 FY27. We are in talks with various technology suppliers on the cell side, with the battery cells to be imported from China. We have not yet finalized the technology partner. Our target customers for the containerized BESS solutions are mainly developers who have bid for and won projects in the IPP space.”
