PGCIL Wins Interstate Transmission Project in Rajasthan

Indian transmission company Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) successfully bids for the Andhra Pradesh transmission project. This project is under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish the Inter-State transmission system for the project namely “Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III PS for Integration of Additional RE Generation Projects” on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

The project comprises augmentation of transformation capacity at existing Kurnool-III substation and extension works at the existing substation along with 765kV D/C Transmission Line.

Powergrid Previous Projects

Earlier this week, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) was declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding for three projects to establish the Inter-State Transmission System under Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. Within the scope of work, the company mentioned that this project comprises augmentation of the transformation capacity at under construction Sirohi substation in the Rajasthan. It also included 765kV D/C transmission lines traversing between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

While discussing the Augmentation of transformation capacity at Banaskantha (Raghanesda) PS (GIS) company, the company stated, "The project comprises ICT augmentation works at existing Banaskantha (Raghanesda) PS (GIS) in the  Gujarat." For building the transmission project, the company said in a regulatory filing, "The project comprises establishment of new 765 / 400 /220kV Kurnool IV Pooling Sub-Station and augmentation of transformation capacity at the existing Substation in Andhra Pradesh. The project also comprises of a 765kV and 400kV D/C Transmission Lines traversing in the Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka."
