PM-KUSUM: Telangana Floats Tender to Solarise 16,840 Agri Pumps

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TGREDCO) has floated a tender under the PM-KUSUM C (IPS) Scheme to solarise existing grid-connected agricultural pump sets across 81 villages in the state. The tender now seeks bids for the setting up 7.5 kW ground-mounted solar systems, with a total target capacity of 126,300 kW across 16,840 pump sets.

According to the tender notification, the project aims to enhance clean energy use in agriculture while ensuring efficient land utilisation through elevated high-rise structures. The last date for submission of the bids is July 24. 

Elevated Solar Structures, RMS and Five-Year Maintenance

The tender mandates the use of Mono PERC solar modules with Domestic Content Requirement (DCR), installed on fixed metallic high-rise structures with a minimum clearance of 8 feet from the ground. This design allows dual usage of land, enabling farmers to use the space underneath for other activities.

Each installation must also include a Remote Monitoring System (RMS), with inverters supporting both SIM card and Wi-Fi connectivity. The cost of data services for RMS for three years is to be bundled within the quoted price.

The agencies have also asked the bidders to take care of the comprehensive maintenance for five years, including biannual inspections and the establishment of district-level service centres. All complaints during the maintenance period must be addressed within 72 hours.

Bidders must meet technical and financial eligibility criteria, with past experience in solar PV installations and annual turnover thresholds corresponding to the selected cluster.

Timeline and Penalties

The entire capacity is to be commissioned within 180 days from the work order. Milestone targets include:
