PM-KUSUM: Luminous Wins 350-MW Solar Inverter Order In Rajasthan Photograph: (Archive)
Luminous Power Technologies has secured orders to install a combined 350 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity under India’s PM-KUSUM scheme in Rajasthan, the company said on Monday.
The capacity will be developed through multiple projects across districts in the state and is aimed at boosting clean power generation while providing additional income to farmers who lease land for the installations.
Utility-scale grid-tied inverters
Luminous will supply about 1,000 utility-scale grid-tied inverters for the projects, the company said, without disclosing the value of the contracts.
Power generated from the plants will be sold to local distribution companies and supplied to residential, commercial and institutional consumers. More than 150 farming families are expected to benefit directly through land-lease arrangements, according to the company.
Execution Likely In Q1 Of 2026
The installations could generate 500–560 million units of electricity annually and offset up to about 459,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, Luminous said.
Execution is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026 and will be rolled out in phases with multiple EPC contractors and local developers.
India’s PM-KUSUM programme aims to promote decentralised solar power and reduce diesel use in agriculture, supporting the government’s target of reaching 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
