PM Backs ₹19,210 Cr Green Energy Projects Across Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh

PM inaugurated Feeder-Level Solarization projects of 3,517 MW, worth over ₹16,050 cr, in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka under the PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) Scheme (Component C).

PM Backs ₹19,210 Cr Green Energy Projects Across Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh

In a major boost to India’s clean energy infrastructure, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for ₹19,210 Cr green energy projects. He inaugurated solar projects at Phalodi, Jaisalmer, Jalore, and Sikar, among others. He also laid the foundation stone for a solar project in Bikaner and a solar park in Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh.

The Prime Minister also announced the launch of power projects worth over ₹90,000 crore across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. He emphasized that the simultaneous initiation of such large-scale projects reflects India’s accelerating progress in the energy sector, ensuring balanced development with every region of India actively contributing, and all states are given priority.

The Maharashtra projects included Sunstream Green Energy’s 140 MWp solar project in Maharashtra. The Company also announced its plan to develop a 1-gigawatt (GW) portfolio of operating renewable energy assets within the next 18–24 months

₹13,180 Cr Transmission Boost to Support 181.5 GW RE Target

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for three power transmission projects worth over ₹13,180 crore under the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). This aims to develop 181.5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 across eight states.

To ensure efficient dispersal of this renewable power to load centers and to enhance grid stability, PowerGrid is implementing key transmission systems for the Rajasthan REZ. These include 765 kV transmission lines from Beawar in Rajasthan to Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh and the extension of associated substations from Sirohi in Rajasthan to Mandsaur and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh.

Along with the augmentation of transformation capacity at the Sirohi Substation and extensions at Mandsaur and Khandwa Substations, the government is also developing a 765 kV & 400 kV transmission line from Bikaner in Rajasthan to Siwani and Fatehabad in Haryana.

The project further extends to Patran in Punjab, along with the establishment of substations at Bikaner, and extends the Siwani Substation. Collectively, these projects will facilitate the seamless transfer of 15.5 GW of green energy from generation hubs in Rajasthan to demand centers in beneficiary states across India.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for three Grid Substations (GSS), which include 220 kV substations and associated lines at Jaisalmer and Bikaner. He also inaugurated a 220 kV GSS at Shiv in Barmer district. These projects, worth over ₹490 crore, will significantly contribute to ensuring energy security in the region.

In line with his commitment to empower farmers, the Prime Minister inaugurated Feeder-Level Solarization projects of 3,517 MW, worth over ₹16,050 crore, in the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme (Component C). Agricultural feeders are being solarized to ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable irrigation power, benefitting lakhs of farmers by lowering electricity costs, cutting irrigation expenses, and promoting rural energy self-reliance.
