The company held a Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the project on Oct. 27, describing it as a key step in advancing India’s clean energy self-reliance under the government’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative. The new facilities will feature artificial intelligence-based precision and analytics systems aimed at enhancing production efficiency, quality, and consistency.

The investment marks a major milestone in Pahal Solar’s plan to transition into a fully integrated solar manufacturing company. It currently operates 2.4 GW of solar module production capacity and 2 GW of ribbon and busbar manufacturing, with total installed capacity expected to rise to 4.4 GW by the end of the financial year.

The upcoming plants are expected to be fully commissioned by late 2026, according to the company.

Rising demand and recent product launches

Earlier this year, the Gujarat-based manufacturer introduced its 570-watt TOPCon solar modules, which comply with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Domestic Content Requirement (DCR). These modules were developed to serve the growing rooftop solar market, particularly the residential sector, following the government’s launch of the PM Surya Ghar scheme.

The scheme, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to provide rooftop solar connections to 10 million households and could add an estimated 30 GW of new solar capacity, according to industry estimates.

Pahal Solar said its 570WDCR module features a 16-busbar (BB) design and a robust 40 mm frame, enabling high efficiency and durability. The company said the product is “perfectly tailored” for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and other DCR-mandated government programs such as PM-KUSUM.
