Oswal Solar Bags 14,787 Solar Pump Order From MSEDCL Photograph: (Archive)
Indian solar pump manufacturer Oswal Pumps has received an order for off-grid solar pumps from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The Karnal-based company received the order under the PM Kusum B Scheme “Magel Tyala Saur Krishi Pump” Yojna.
The company informed about the latest order to the exchanges in its regulatory filing.
“Pursuant to Regulation 30 of the Listing Regulations, we wish to inform that the company has today received a Letter of Empanelment/Letter of Award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for 14,787 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (‘SPWPS’), which is to be executed within one (1) year under the PM Kusum B Scheme ‘Magel Tyala Saur Krishi Pump’ Yojna,” the company said.
It also added that the total value of 14,787 solar pumps stood at around Rs 442 crore (including GST). As per the mandate of the order, the solar company will supply 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP solar pumps under the PM Kusum scheme. Talking about the scope of work, the company said, “(It will include) Design, Manufacture, Supply, Transport, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (‘SPWPS’) of 3 HP, 5 HP & 7.5 HP capacity at identified farmers’ sites in districts of Maharashtra, including complete system warranty, its repair and maintenance, and Remote Monitoring System (‘RMS’) for 5 years under PM Kusum B Scheme ‘Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump’ Yojna.”

Besides Oswal Pumps, another solar pump manufacturer — Shakti Pumps — also announced bagging a Rs 1,037 crore order under the same scheme. The Indore-based company will deploy 34,720 off-grid solar pumps under the scheme for the state utility. Currently, Shakti Pumps and Oswal Pumps have penetrated deeper into the solar pump business in the country, bagging multiple orders under the PM Kusum scheme and other state solar irrigation schemes.
