Orient Green Power Arm Signs ₹32.87 Cr Suzlon Wind Repowering Deal

Orient Green Power has entered into a contract with Suzlon Energy Limited (Suzlon) to supply three 2.1 MW wind energy generators (WEGs), totalling 6.3 MW, for the repowering of its existing wind farm at the Devarkulam site in Tamil Nadu. In a regulatory filing, Orient Green Power said that the Investment/Borrowing/Banking Committee of the board of directors of Clarion Wind Farm Private Limited (Clarion) met on January 28, 2026.

The company entered into a contract with Suzlon Energy Limited (Suzlon) to supply three wind energy generators of 2.1 MW capacity each, aggregating to 6.3 MW, for repowering the existing wind farm at the Devarkulam site in Tamil Nadu. The company is expected to complete supply of the order on or before June 30, 2026, at an agreed contract price of Rs. 32.87 crore, inclusive of GST.

Previous Wind Energy Project in Tamil Nadu

In 2024, Orient Green Power previously invested Rs. 143.50 crore in its subsidiary, Delta Renewable Energy Private Limited (Delta), for developing a 19.8 MW AC (29 MW DC) solar power project in Tamil Nadu (Phase I project).

Orient Green Power Forays into the Solar Segment

Orient Power stands among the wind energy companies that have forayed into the solar power generation segment. In 2024, OGPCL raised funds through a rights issue to implement a 25 MW AC solar power project through its subsidiary, Delta Renewable Energy Private Limited (DELTA).

DELTA has successfully commissioned a 7 MW AC solar power project at Krishnasamudhram Village, Tiruttani Taluk, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu. This development marks OGPCL’s entry into the solar energy sector, complementing its established expertise in wind power.
