Oriana Power Receives Purchase Orders From RE Developer for 50 MW Kerala Solar Project
Noida-based Oriana Power has recently received purchase orders (POs) from a renewable energy developer for setting up a 50 MW (AC) grid-interactive solar PV power project in Kerala. In a stock exchange filing, Oriana Power said it secured contracts worth Rs 186.36 crore (excluding GST), comprising two individual contracts. The order involves providing end-to-end delivery of the commissioned plant to the renewable energy developer. The company said the project is scheduled to be completed in the financial year 2026–27.
These include a support and alliance agreement for the supply of modules and other components, and a support agreement to provide allied services related to modules and other components.
Scope of Work
Under the contract scope of work, Oriana Power said it would be required to deliver end-to-end delivery of the commissioned plant, including but not limited to design, engineering, and procurement of equipment and materials. This also includes testing at manufacturers’ works, packing, forwarding, transportation, supply, receipt, and unloading at the site.
The EPC player will also be responsible for storage and insurance at all stages, associated civil and electrical works, services, permits, and licences. In addition, the company will undertake installation, erection, testing, commissioning, performance demonstration, and operational acceptance of the solar plant.
Expanding Renewable Energy Portfolio
Anirudh Saraswat, Whole-Time Director of Oriana Power, recently spoke during an investor call about building the company’s renewable energy portfolio. Currently, the portfolio covers 6 GW of solar EPC capacity and around 2.5 GW of IPP capacity, which is expected to be developed after 2028.
Sharing details of the company’s previous projects, Saraswat said that on the generation side, Oriana Power has commissioned Rajasthan’s first group captive open-access project. The company has also previously secured open-access grid connectivity. He added that to ensure further growth, Oriana Power said it is aligning future development with its project pipeline. Additionally, he mentioned that the company has added more than 600 acres of land, taking its cumulative land capacity to over 3,500 acres.
He explained that previously, Oriana Power had secured its first open-access project in Gujarat, marking its second project in the state. The company has also commissioned the largest project in Goa under the virtual net metering policy. It has already delivered group net metering and virtual net metering projects in Delhi and is now expanding into another Union Territory with the largest project in Goa.
Oriana Power said it expects to have multiple revenue streams and will share a revenue breakup for the next three years, which it described as a key focus area. The company mentioned the following revenue breakup in the next three years, where, in FY26, ~90% of revenue will be from solar, ~10% from BESS. In FY27, 60% from solar and ~40% from BESS.
Whereas, in FY28, ~30% would come from solar, ~50% from BESS, and ~20% from hydrogen. He added that solar will remain somewhere around 25–30%, hydrogen will take shape and cover 40%, and other services will cover 40%. However, BESS will play a major role in the next 3 years of Oriana Power.
