Olectra Greentech Appoints Mahesh Babu As New Managing Director

Hyderabad-based Olectra Greentech, at a board meeting, appointed Mahesh Babu Subramanian as an Additional Director of the Company, with effect from 27th September 2025. 

In a regulatory filing while sharing these details, Olectra Greentech said its Board of Directors, at its meeting held on 24th September 2025, recommended the nomination via the Remuneration Committee. It has now approved the appointment of Mahesh Babu Subramanian as Additional Director and Managing Director of the Company. The company said he is not liable to retire by rotation for a period of three years, with effect from September 27, 2025. 

Previous Experience

Olectra Greentech said, Mahesh Babu, who has a postgraduate degree in Engineering from BITS, Pilani, is a Fulbright Scholar and has completed the Leadership in Management program at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. Additionally, he is an alumnus of IMD, Switzerland, and Yale University, USA, having participated in the Executive Leadership program. With over 30 years of experience in the mobility sector, Mahesh Babu brings a wealth of expertise to his roles.

Before joining Olectra, Olectra Greentech mentioned that he served as the Chief Executive Officer of SWITCH Mobility, and earlier, also worked as the Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Electric. It further mentions that Mahesh Babu has also been actively involved in various Electric Vehicle (EV) committees of the Indian Government, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
