Ola Electric has commenced nationwide test rides for its latest S1 Pro+ scooter, powered by the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery. Customers visiting Ola’s flagship stores across India can now experience the upgraded electric scooter, which combines greater performance, extended range, and stronger safety features.
The S1 Pro+ is equipped with a 5.2 kWh Bharat Cell battery pack - entirely manufactured in India - representing a major step forward in the company’s goal of achieving domestic EV battery self-reliance.
Ola has also secured ARAI certification for this configuration under the newly implemented AIS-156 Amendment 4 safety standards.
Performance and Efficiency
Under the hood, the scooter features a 13 kW electric motor that enables acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.1 seconds.
Ola claims an IDC-certified range of 320 km in DIY mode, which offers riders the flexibility to customise performance and efficiency settings. The scooter also includes four distinct riding modes - Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco - allowing users to adapt the ride experience as per terrain and driving style.
Customers can choose S1 Pro+ from a refreshed set of paint options, including Passion Red, Midnight Blue, and other premium finishes.
An Addition to India’s Battery Ecosystem
The introduction of the S1 Pro+ with the made-in-India 4680 Bharat advanced battery cells marks an important milestone in Ola Electric’s larger strategy to localise core EV technologies.
The Bharat Cell is being produced at Ola’s upcoming Gigafactory, which will form part of the company’s broader ambition to build an integrated EV and energy ecosystem, covering battery innovation, two-wheeler manufacturing, and advanced electric mobility platforms.
The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) joins Ola’s expanding lineup of electric two-wheelers (e2w), which includes multiple S1 variants and the soon-to-launch Roadster motorcycle series.
