The eastern Indian state of Odisha has approved renewable energy projects worth ₹869.8 crore ($104 million), with a combined capacity of 178 megawatts, officials said on Friday.
The greenlight was given during the 12th meeting of the state’s Single Window Committee (SWC), chaired by Energy Department Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev.
Key officials, including the managing director and directors of state-run utilities GRIDCO and OHPC, and other senior members of the committee, attended the meeting. The Renewable Energy Nodal Agency (RENA) presented the project proposals, which were reviewed and cleared by the panel.

The approvals include a 69.5 MW solar park by Prozeal Green Energy Ltd in Subarnapur district, a 49.5 MW solar project by INOX Solar Ltd in Keonjhar, and a 10 MW solar unit by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd in Jharsuguda. NLC India Renewables Ltd also received the go-ahead for a wind power project in Nabarangpur district.
Together, the new projects will add 128.5 MW of solar and 49.5 MW of wind capacity to the state’s renewable energy portfolio.
With the latest approvals, the SWC has now cleared projects totaling 1,844.86 MW, attracting cumulative investment commitments of ₹12,599.79 crore, officials said.
Support from state
The state government said the new projects would support Odisha’s renewable purchase obligations, contribute to national climate goals, and create local jobs and infrastructure.
The Energy Department reaffirmed its commitment to promoting green investments and ensuring faster project clearances through inter-agency coordination.
