NVVN Plans To Boost Rooftop Solar In Andaman & Nicobar By Manish Kumar/ Updated On Mon, May 26th, 2025 NVVNL Plans To Boost Rooftop Solar In Andaman & Nicobar NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has now planned to boost the installation of rooftop solar in Andaman and Nicobar. In this regard, the agency has issued a tender seeking developers. As per the tender documents, NVVN has planned to install 3,450 kW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems across various buildings in three districts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The tender is being conducted on behalf of the A&N Administration and follows a Domestic Competitive Bidding process under a Single Stage Two Envelope system. Scope of Work The scope of work includes obtaining net metering approvals, full EPC execution, electrical safety compliance, underground cabling (if needed), and ensuring waterproofing of rooftops post-installation. The selected bidder will also handle material transport, storage, and site safety, and provide a five-year warranty and operations manual post-commissioning. NVVN mandates that successful bidders pay Project Management Consultancy (PMC) charges at 5% of the awarded value, included within the quoted price. The project also talks about five years of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) obligation. “Certificate of the beneficiary that the system is installed and commissioned in all respect with the date of commissioning, system and invertor capacity, etc. and that he has been provided the 05 (Five) Year Warranty Card and the O&M Manual,” the tender document read. Technical & Financial Criteria Bidders must meet stringent technical and financial criteria, with preference given to firms experienced in SPV plants or related electrical infrastructure. Only Class-I and Class-II local suppliers are eligible, and bidders from countries sharing land borders with India must be registered with the Competent Authority, in line with national procurement policy.
