NTPC Tenders for Installation of 550 kW Rooftop Solar Projects

NTPC Limited has issued a tender for the installation of rooftop solar projects at two of its locations worth a combined generational capacity of 550 kW.

NTPC Limited has issued a tender for the installation of rooftop solar projects at two of its locations worth a combined generational capacity of 550 kW. The first project, a 500 kW rooftop system will be installed at the TSTPS in Kaniha and the second, a 50 kW system will be installed in TTPS in Talcher.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the two rooftop solar power plants. The project developers will also be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the plants for a period of 5 years from the date of successful commissioning.

The last date for bid submission is January 21, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the next date i.e. January 22, 2019. The date and time of opening of the price bids will be intimated to the technically cleared bidders later. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2.82 crore and all bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 5 lakh along with their bids.

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process for the tender, all interested bidders must have experience of successfully having designed, supplied, ‘erected/ supervised erection’ and ‘commissioned/ supervised commissioning’ of grid-connected solar photovoltaic based power plant of at least one plant of 100 KWp or above and cumulative capacity of 440 KWp or above.

The reference plant of 100 KWp or above capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six (6) months as on the last date of the month preceding the month of publication of NIT.

Furthermore, the average annual turnover of the bidder in the preceding three financial years as on the date of techno-commercial bid opening shall not be less than Rs 2.82 crore i.e. cost of the tender.

Recently, NTPC had revealed that it is planning to add 10 GW of solar energy generation capacity by 2022, which entails an investment of around Rs 50,000 crore, to be funded mainly by green bonds. At present, the Navratna company has installed renewable energy capacity of 920 MW, which includes mainly solar energy. It has formulated a long term plan to become a 130 GW company by 2032 with 30 percent non-fossil fuel or renewable energy capacity.
