NTPC Tenders for Rooftop Solar Plants at Barauni TPP in Bihar

NTPC Ltd has issued a tender for the installation of rooftop solar projects at Stage 2 of NTPC Barauni Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in the state of Bihar.

NTPC Ltd has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible bidders for the installation of rooftop solar projects at Stage 2 of NTPC Barauni Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in the state of Bihar.

The scope of work for the selected developers will include the design, supply, erection, commissioning of the solar grid-connected power plants. The successful bidders will have a period of 4 months to complete the work on the installation of the project. The developers are also required to provide operation and maintenance services for the rooftop solar plants for a period of 1 year from the date of successful commissioning.

The last date for bid submission is July 10, 2020, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on July 11, 2020. The date and time of opening of the price bids will be intimated later to the technically qualified bidders later. All bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 5 lakh along with their bids. Eligible Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) will be exempted from submission of the EMD.

The estimated cost of the 800 kW rooftop solar projects along with the auxiliary services and component is Rs 2.95 crore. The rooftop systems will be developed on the following buildings of the TPP:

  1. Main Power House Building,
  2. Service Building,
  3. O&M Workshop Building,
  4. O&M Store Building,
  5. CHP Workshop Building,
  6. Fire Water Pump House Building,
  7. Ash Slurry Pump House Building,
  8. Switchyard Control Room Building

To be eligible, the bidder should have designed, supplied, erected/ supervised erection, commissioned/ supervised commissioning and done O&M of SPV based grid-connected power plant for at least one plant of 100 kWp or above and cumulative capacity of 640 kWp or above. The reference plant of 100 kWp or above capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six months as on the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

Financially, the average annual turnover of the Bidder, in the preceding three consecutive financial years as on the date of techno-commercial bid opening, should not be less than Rs 3.28 crore. And, the net worth of the bidder should not be less than 100 percent of its paid-up share capital.

As per the tender provisions, the bidder must also qualify under the Proven-ness Criteria. The Bidder/ Subcontractor shall meet the requirements as stipulated below:

The Bidder / sub-contractor should have manufactured and supplied the solar PV modules of cumulative installed capacity of 1 MWp or above using any rating of modules and any source of indigenous or imported PV cells in any one financial year.

The Bidder I sub-contractor should have manufactured and supplied solar PV modules built up using indigenous and/or imported PV cells of power rating 240 Wp or above which must have been in successful operation for at least six months as on date of techno-commercial bid opening.
