NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the supply of solar PV modules for its 1 GW solar power projects. These projects are located in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The last date for bid submission is August 19, 2025.
Project Capacity and Configuration
The total required DC capacity stands at 1,450 MWp across three project blocks: Lalitpur-1 (435 MWp), Lalitpur-2 (435 MWp), and Chitrakoot-1 (580 MWp). Bidding will be conducted under Domestic Competitive Bidding (DCB) guidelines on a Single Stage Two Envelope basis, followed by a reverse auction.
The scope of work entails manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, and transportation of crystalline bifacial solar PV modules. NTPC REL said that these modules should have a minimum nominal rating of 570 Wp. All modules must fall under the Open Category and be listed in ALMM List-I by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Bid Security Requirements and Eligibility Criteria
Interested bidders are supposed to furnish bid security as per the quoted capacity. For a single block like Lalitpur-1 or Lalitpur-2, the bid security is ₹10 crore. For bidders quoting for the full 1,464.5 MWp capacity, the required bid security is ₹20 crore.
To qualify, bidders must have manufactured and supplied at least 200 MWp of SPV modules or cells in any twelve-month period within the last five years, including at least one order of 50 MWp. Additionally, the bidders must possess a manufacturing capacity equal to 1.67 times their quoted capacity.
Financially, the average annual turnover of the bidder during the preceding three financial years as on the date of techno-commercial bid opening should not be less than 0.244 times their quoted capacity in crore rupees.
