NTPC-REL NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of India’s largest power utility NTPC Ltd, has floated a tender for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package to develop a 245 MW grid-connected solar project in the South Block of the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, located in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The last date for submission of bids is June 26, 2025, the company said in a statement. The project is part of NTPC REL’s expanding renewable energy portfolio. The company recently announced the commercial operation of the final 60 MW unit of its 150 MW solar PV project in Limbdi, Gujarat, under the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) 500 MW Solar Phase XII tender. With this, the entire project is now fully commissioned. The new 245 MW project is expected to further boost Gujarat’s solar capacity, which currently stands at 19,421.89 MW. Scope of work and eligibility As per the tender, bidders are required to meet a minimum average annual turnover of ₹162 crore during the last three financial years as of the date of the techno-commercial bid opening. The estimated cost of the project is also pegged at ₹162 crore for one block of 245 MW. The contractor will also be responsible for the supply of solar PV modules, a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for remote monitoring and inverter control, and the complete installation of a weather monitoring station, including cloud cover analysis.
