NTPC Ltd Issues Tender For 1150 MW Grid Connected Solar PV Project Across Cuba

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has floated a tender for 1150 MW grid-connected solar power generating capacity across 175 locations and 150 MW/150 MWh BESS at three locations in the Republic of Cuba.

The last date for submitting the bid of this Republic of Cuba tender is September 28, 2022, till 17:30 Hrs (IST) and the bid will be opened on the same day.

The 1150 MW project will be broken up into three "buckets", about 300 MW each and will be put out to bid as a single project. A bidder may participate in either one, any two, or all three blocks if they have a minimum capacity of 50 MW.

The Tendering Authority shall have the discretion to award any capacity less than 50 MW. In each of the three blocks mentioned above, which total 50 MW/50 MWhr each, the 150 MW/150 MWh BESS at three predetermined locations is distributed equally. The bidder must account for the additional cost of installing the BESS system when submitting their bid. The provinces where BESS is located shall be assessed independently, and the exact modalities of such bidding procedure shall be further described at the time of RFP.

A prospective bidder must have designed, constructed, and operated one or more grid-connected solar PV power plant(s) in Latin & South America with a minimum cumulative capacity of 15 MW. Each such plant should have a minimum capacity of 5 MW.

OR

The bidder should have experience in successfully designing, constructing, and operating one or more power plant(s), with any power generation technology, connected to the grid in Latin and South America with a minimum cumulative capacity of 40 MW.

Prospective on the final day of the last financial year, the bidder's net worth should have at least USD 40 million, or its equivalent, and the net worth to total assets ratio should have at least 15%.
