NTPC has issued a tender inviting online bids from eligible bidders on single stage two envelope with reverse auction for the selection of solar power generators for setting up of 1500 MW ISTS-connected solar power projects across India. As per the tender document by NTPC, the technical bid will open on March 5 while the date and time of reverse auction will be announced later. The cost of Request for Selection (RfS) documents is Rs 22,500. The pre-bid conference and last date for receipt of queries from prospective bidders is February 23.

Moreover, all the bids by the interested bidders must be accompanied by Earnest Money Deposit for an amount calculated at the rate of Rs 11.6 Lakh per MW. The document further states that the issuance of RfS Documents to any Bidder will not construe that such bidder is considered to be qualified. Bids will be submitted online and the bidder will have to furnish the Earnest Money Deposit, Integrity Pact, Pass Phrase, and Board Resolution separately offline as detailed in RfS Documents before the stipulated bid submission closing date. Any bid that does not include an acceptable earnest money deposit in a separate sealed envelope will be deemed non-responsive by the employer and returned to the bidder unopened.

In the recent past, NTPC has issued a series of significant tenders including the procurement of land for 800 MW solar projects. It has also released major tenders for wind energy recently inclusive of those for 1110 MW wind projects, 1200 MW wind projects, 1000 MW wind project, 1080 MW among others. In January too, NTPC issued tenders for 1500 MW ISTS solar projects.

In another recent announcement, NTPC REL announced that it had won 900 MW capacity in a 1250 MW capacity tender issued by PFCCL.
