NTPC's Green Portfolio In Gujarat

This commissioning marks the latest addition to NTPC Green’s portfolio in Gujarat, where several renewable projects have recently gone online. Earlier this month, Ayana Renewable Power, through its subsidiaries and in joint venture with ONGC NTPC Green, announced the partial commissioning of capacity under the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project. On August 21, it also commissioned 52.8 MW of wind power, part of a 100 MW wind-solar hybrid project in the state.

The Bhuj project is part of the renewable and infrastructure developments inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this year, when he laid the foundation stone and launched projects worth over ₹53,400 crore in Gujarat. These included transmission upgrades to evacuate power from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, expansion of the state’s transmission network, and a new ultra-supercritical thermal unit at Tapi, along with major initiatives at Kandla Port, and new road, water, and solar projects.
