NTPC Green Energy Adds 91.6 MW Solar Capacity, Expands Portfolio to 9.29 GW

NTPC Green Energy has commissioned 91.6 MW of solar capacity in Andhra Pradesh, the second phase of a 250 MW project, increasing the company’s total commercial renewable capacity to 9,292.68 MW.

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commercial operation of 91.6 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic capacity in Andhra Pradesh, further strengthening the company’s expanding renewable energy portfolio.

The declaration follows certification issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on March 9, 2026, confirming the project’s operational status. According to the certification, the solar capacity achieved commercial operation with effect from February 27, 2026.

The newly commissioned capacity represents the second phase of a 250 MW solar PV project being developed in Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, the first phase comprising 158.4 MW had already been commissioned and was disclosed by the company on February 20, 2026.

Project Structure and Capacity Expansion

The solar project is operated through Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. The latter is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, which functions as a joint venture between NTPC Green Energy Limited and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.

With the addition of 91.6 MW, the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group’s total commercial renewable energy capacity has increased from 9,201.08 MW to 9,292.68 MW, reflecting the company’s ongoing expansion in India’s rapidly growing clean energy sector.

The development was disclosed in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which requires listed companies to report material events to stock exchanges. The company submitted the disclosure to both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India and BSE Limited on March 9, 2026.
