NTPC to Enlist Vendors for Bulk Procurement of Solar Modules

NTPC Ltd has invited suppliers and manufacturers globally to get themselves enlisted for all the future procurements of solar PV modules on a bulk basis.

NTPC Ltd has informed that it intends to procure solar modules directly from the global market in the near future and has thus invited prospective suppliers and manufacturers globally to submit their proposals to get themselves enlisted with NTPC for all the future procurements of solar PV modules on a bulk basis.

As per the tender documents, the tentative capacities which are planned for procurement of solar modules for the development of its solar PV projects will be of approximately 1 GW in the current financial year and subsequently, procurement of solar modules of approximately 2-2.5 GW capacities per year is being planned for the subsequent years.

The scope of work for the selected vendors will include the manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation (only for the international solar modules to India port of delivery) of crystalline solar modules for bulk procurement.

The last date for submission of applications for enlistment is August 17, 2020, and the applications will be opened on August 18, 2020. The pre-application meeting has been scheduled for July 28, 2020, to address the concerns raised by the prospective suppliers.

To be eligible, the bidders should have manufactured and supplied solar modules of capacity of 200 MWp or above for a single project in the last three years prior to the last date of submission of application for enlistment. The reference project of 200 MWp or above capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six months prior to the last date of submission of application for enlistment.

Financially, the average annual turnover of the applicant, should not be less than Rs 320 crore during the preceding three financial years as on the last date of submission of application for enlistment. And, the net worth of the applicant as on the last day of the preceding financial year should not be less than 100 percent of the applicant’s paid-up share capital.

Subsequent to enlistment, only the enlisted parties will be invited to submit bids in respect of specific procurements of solar modules against the respective scope of work indicated above till the validity of the enlistment.
