NLC India’s Q3 Profit Rises 4% As Renewable Energy Generation Grows

NLC India, in its latest Q3 FY26 results, reported revenue from operations of ₹4,443.05 crore, compared with ₹4,411.47 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 0.72%.

The company also reported growth in profit after tax (PAT), which stood at ₹724.01 crore, up from ₹696.03 crore a year earlier, marking a YoY increase of 4.02%. Meanwhile, NLC India’s net worth rose 11.92% as of December 31, 2025, to ₹20,639.91 crore, compared with ₹18,441.43 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

On the other hand, during the quarter, NLC India achieved gross power generation of 20,543.12 million units (MU), including 1,595.95 MU from renewable energy sources.

QoQ Growth 

However, the NLC India reported a quarter-on-quarter decline in profit margin to 16.80%, compared with 16.59% in the previous quarter, and a drop from 19.21% recorded in the same quarter last year (December 2024). 

On a quarter-on-quarter basia NLC reported a decline in profit, with profit after tax easing by 0.11% to ₹724.01 crore in the December quarter from ₹724.80 crore in the September quarter, contributing to pressure on profit margins during the period.

9-Month Report 

For the nine months ended December 2025, the NLC India reported a year-on-year increase in revenue, posting its highest-ever consolidated revenue from operations of ₹12,447.07 crore, compared with ₹11,446.97 crore in the previous year, registering a growth of 8.74%.

During the same period, NLC India also recorded its highest-ever profit after tax of ₹2,288.02 crore, up from ₹2,245.14 crore in the corresponding period last year, representing a growth of 1.91%. Its net worth as of December 31, 2025, stood at ₹20,639.91 crore, compared with ₹18,441.43 crore a year earlier, reflecting a YoY increase of 11.92%.

A similar trend was observed on a year-on-year basis for the nine months ended December 2025, with NLC India reporting a profit margin of 18.00%, down from 21.00% recorded in the corresponding period of December 2024.
