NHPC Seeking EPC Contractors for 40 MW Solar Plant in Odisha

NHPC has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible firms for taking up EPC contract for a 40 MW grid-connected solar project in Jaganath Prasad, Odisha.

NHPC has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible firms for taking up the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for a 40 MW grid-connected solar power project in Jaganath Prasad, Odisha.

The scope of work for the selected EPC firms will include the EPC build of the solar power project and the associated 220 kV transmission line for connectivity at 220 kV OPTCL Transmission system through LILO Provision. The EPC firms will have a period of 12 months to complete the work on the commissioning of the project, after which they will be required to provide 10 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the plant and its associated auxiliary systems for a period of 10 years from the date of successful commissioning.

The last date for bid submission is August 31, 2020, and the technical bids will be opened on the following date i.e. September 1, 2020. The venue, date and time of opening of the price bids and e-reverse auction will be intimated later to the bidders whose techno-commercial bids will be cleared. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for July 30, 2020, to address the concerns raised by the prospective bidders.

All bidders will be required to submit bid security (EMD) amount of Rs 2.6 crore along with their bids.

To be eligible, the bidders must have experience of having successfully completed a solar power project during the last five years on EPC basis, as a contractor or developer, having capacities as below, as on the last date of the month prior to the bid submission date:

One Solar Power Project of at least 32 MW Capacity

or

Two Solar Power projects of at least 20 MW Capacity each

or

Three Solar Power projects of at least 16 MW Capacity each.

And, the bidders must have successful experience of Operation & Maintenance for minimum one project of minimum 16 MW solar project for at least one year during the preceding five years, as on the last date of the month prior to the bid submission date.

Financially, the minimum annual average turnover of the bidder in the preceding three years shall be Rs 328 crore. And they must have a working capital (current assets minus current liabilities) shall be at least Rs 27.35 crore.

Recently, we had reported that NHPC had issued a letter of award (LoA) to a Solar Power Developer (SPD) for interstate transmission system (ISTS) grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects for balance 400 MW installed capacity out of 2000 MW that was tendered by the company.
