Neuron Energy Secures INR 31 Cr in Pre-Series B Round for New Age EV Battery Manufacturing

Mumbai-based Neuron Energy, a key player in India's electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing space, has secured INR 31 crore through its Pre-Series B funding round.

The investment was spearheaded by Equanimity Ventures, Rajiv Dadlani Group, Thackersay Family Office, and Chona Family Office, alongside contributions from other prominent family offices and high-net-worth individuals.

The capital marks a total of INR 80 crore raised to date, positioning the company for accelerated expansion in a high-momentum sector.​

Pratik Kamdar, CEO and Co-Founder of Neuron Energy, commented on the funding, “This Pre-Series B round is a defining step in our mission to industrialise world-class battery manufacturing in India. As EV adoption accelerates, we are focused on building capacity, embedding automation, and pushing the boundaries of performance and reliability. This investment ensures we can deliver at scale, both in India and globally.”

Key Expansion Initiatives

Proceeds from the round will fuel Neuron Energy's manufacturing scale-up to 3 GWh capacity, including a cutting-edge, fully automated plant at Chakan, Pune, dedicated to batteries for electric four-wheelers and buses. 

Investments will also bolster R&D efforts, drive domestic market growth, and facilitate international outreach to meet rising demand for reliable, high-performance batteries.​

Neuron anticipates INR 200 crore in revenue this year, with projections exceeding INR 900 crore in the coming years while sustaining strong margins.​

The funding continues the backing for multiple startups in the evolvimng EV space in India, from startups in battery manufacturing, to EV charging to systems, as investors place their bets on the next likely winners
