Navitas Solar Launches G12R Modules, Plans Expanding Its EPC Biz Photograph: (Archive)
Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer Navitas Solar plans to offer solar modules ranging from 620Wp to 650Wp, enabled by the recent launch of its G12R series. The company unveiled the new product at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo held recently in Greater Noida.
“At the REI event, we launched our G12R modules, which can offer capacities ranging from 605Wp to 650Wp. This is our latest launch, alongside our ongoing production of other solar modules,” Vijay Menon, Chief Operating Officer of Navitas Solar, told Saur Energy.
Mono-PERC & TOPCon Mix
The company currently operates two solar module production lines in Surat, manufacturing both mono-PERC and TOPCon modules. One line has a total capacity of 500 MW, while the other has 2.5 GW.
Navitas has also announced plans to enter solar cell manufacturing, with its home state Gujarat earmarked for the new facility. Menon said the firm, led by Vineet Mittal, aims to extend its backward integration by producing ingots and wafers as well.
“You can expect further progress on our backward integration in the next 15–24 months, either through commissioning or fast-tracking of these three projects,” Menon said.
Expanding EPC
The company said it now has a robust order book. Over the past year, it transitioned to TOPCon technology for most of its production and is planning further expansion of its module manufacturing capacity.
Navitas also has a sister company producing solar encapsulants and is looking to scale up its EPC business. “We have been undertaking EPC work so far, but now we plan to expand. We will take up small to mid-size projects and also plan to develop solar parks,” Menon added.
