Nalanda University – Rajgir, has proposed a tender for settling up of 5000 KW AC, 1.3ILR/6.5DC capacity grid-connected ground-mounted solar PV system at the permanent campus (Phase I).

The university issued the tender on November 5, 2020, for the setting up of 5000 KW AC Capacity grid-connected ground-mounted solar PV system including design, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning at the permanent campus.  The bid seems to be a second attempt at generating solar power at the site, after a previous tender in March this year. The March bid seems to have been cancelled due to the impact of Covid related lockdowns.

The last date for bid submissions is November 27, 2020. All bidders will be required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 34,25,000 along with their bids.

The contractors are required to design the complete solar plant with all the required accessories, mounting structure, inverters, DC cable, communication cables, Earthing, LA, panels, SCADA system, metering system, etc. All these are required for the proper functioning and monitoring of the system – including all the hardware and software.

All the above, along with vetting of the design through a third party(s) and clearances from the SECI, MNRE, CERC, SBPDCL/DISCOM, & BERC. Further, comprehensive operation as well as maintenance of the entire installation for 5 years.

The installation site is located along the Patna-Rajgir Highway and is well-connected with the city of Rajgir, Bihar. The total area of the site is approximately 455 acres (“Site”) out of which 20 acres area has been allotted and marked for the Ground Mounted Solar PV System and associated jobs.

Nalanda University was established in November 2010. It came into being by an act (Nalanda University Act 2010) of the Indian Parliament. Nalanda is a standalone international university unlike any other established in the country. Nalanda University has been designated as an “institution of national importance” (Act).
