MP: Jakson Begins Phase I of 6 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility

This facility is located at Maksi Phase II, Ujjain District. In Phase I, Jakson will establish a 3 GW solar cell and 4 GW solar module manufacturing facility, followed by backward integration into ingot and wafer production in subsequent phases.

MP: Jakson Begins Phase I of 6 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has recently laid the foundation stone (Bhoomi Poojan) for the first phase of Jakson Group’s 6 GW Integrated Solar Ingot, Wafer, Cell, and Module Manufacturing Facility.

In a press release, Jakson said the event was held at the 113.5-acre project site in Maksi and in the presence of senior dignitaries from the Madhya Pradesh Government. Representing Jakson Group were Sameer Gupta, Chairman, and Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman, along with members of the leadership team.

About The Project

In Phase I, Jakson will establish a 3 GW solar cell and 4 GW solar module manufacturing facility, followed by backward integration into ingot and wafer production in subsequent phases. The project will also help develop a robust solar manufacturing ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh, fostering supply chain and ancillary industry growth.

This facility at Maksi Phase II, Ujjain District, has an over ₹8,000 crore investment and can become one of the largest solar manufacturing initiatives in Madhya Pradesh.

Jakson Group already has a strong presence in the state with a 150 KLPD grain-based ethanol manufacturing plant in Balaghat. The upcoming solar manufacturing facility further strengthens this partnership with the state and underscores Jakson’s long-term commitment to advancing India’s clean energy and self-reliance goals.

Previous Companies in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh, previously in the Mohasa-Babai region in Narmadapuram district, is another emerging area as an industrial hub, where the manufacturing of power and renewable energy equipment. 

Under Phase 2, 551 acres of land have been allotted to nine units. Seven of these belong to the power and renewable energy equipment manufacturing sector, while two are part of the broader Mohasa-Babai industrial ecosystem. The total proposed investment for these units amounts to ₹39,210.55 crore, which is expected to generate employment for 14,777 people.

Some of the key investors of the erstwhile project are: 

  • Satvik Solar Industries Pvt. Ltd. – Land allotted 185 acres with ₹10,000 crore investment and 2,500 jobs to be created.
  • Grav PV Pvt. Ltd. - invested ₹5,533 crore, allotted 65 acres of land with 1,320 estimated job creation. 
  • Cosmic PV Power Ltd. - invested ₹4,000 crore on 60 acres of land allotted, with 1,000 jobs created.
  • Gautam Solar Power Pvt. Ltd. – invested ₹4,000 crore, 4,000 jobs on 40 acres of land allotted.
  • Grav Energy Pvt. Ltd. – invested ₹3,997.85 crore, 1,657 jobs, 64 acres of land allotted. 
  • Integrated Batteries India Pvt. Ltd. – invested ₹3,381 crore, 1,000 jobs, 40 acres of land allotted. 
  • HETIH Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. – invested ₹3,298.7 crore, 2,050 jobs, 52 acres of land allotted. 
  • Oriana Power Ltd. – invested ₹4,500 crore, expects to create 1,000 jobs, with  30 acres of land allotment. 
  • Allenberry Industrial Gases Ltd. – invested ₹500 crore, 250 jobs, and land
