Under this program, MNRE will provide internship to students those who are pursuing Under Graduate/ Graduate/ Post Graduate degrees or research scholars enrolled in the recognized institutes/ universities with in India or abroad, as ‘Interns’.

As per the guidelines, students from various engineering, science, management, law and other streams may undertake internship in the ministry.

They can even also get a chance of getting internship in other organizations under the ministry’s aegis to understand its various activities in order to become researchers/ managers in the renewable energy space.

The ministry also said that, these interns will be attached with the senior level officers of the ministry under various programme divisions.

The ministry further added that this internship will be on an unpaid basis, and no stipend will be provided to the interns. It will be available throughout the year as per the MNRE requirement.

Besides, the scheme will also provide opportunity to personnel engaged in the projects related to policy research promotion/demonstration and deployment of renewable energy in national and international research/institutes and financial institutions to work as Interns in the ministry/its organizations.

Every year, the internship will be provided to a maximum of 40 interns, with not more than 20 interns being in position at any point of time, the ministry added. Also, every division head can take a maximum of 3 interns for internship per year.
