MNRE Continues Off-Grid & Decentralized CST Scheme

The scheme will be implemented as per the operational guidelines.

MNRE sets new capacity addition target

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued an order for the continuation of the scheme on ‘Off-Grid and Decentralized Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) Technologies for community cooking, process heat and space heating & cooling applications in industrial, institutional and commercial establishments’ during the period 2017-18 to 2019-20.

In a release, the Ministry said, “Sanction of the President is hereby accorded to the approval for the continuation of the scheme entitled ‘Off-Grid and Decentralized Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) Technologies for community cooking, process heat and space heating & cooling applications in industrial, institutional and commercial establishments’ at a total cost of Rs 70 Cr. (including liabilities) during the period of 2017-20.”

The release further added that, “The scheme will be implemented as per the operational guidelines issued vide Office Order No. 30/11/2012-13/NSM dated 4th June, 2014 regarding, implementation of ‘Off-Grid and Decentralized Solar Applications’ in the 2nd Phase of JNNSM during 12th Plan period; Guidelines for ‘Off-Grid and Decentralized Solar Thermal Applications Scheme’.”
