Maharashtra: Vikran Engineering Gets ₹354 Cr 100 MW Solar EPC Project
Mumbai-based Vikran Engineering Limited (VEL), an emerging multi-sector EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company, was recently awarded a ₹354 crore turnkey EPC contract by Ellume Energy MH SolarOne Private Limited (SPV). In a press release, the company, while sharing these details, mentioned that it had secured a contract for a 100 MW AC/120 MW DC solar power project in Maharashtra.
Under the terms of the Letter of Award (LOA), Vikran Engineering will execute the project on a lump-sum turnkey basis, encompassing comprehensive design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar power plant, ensuring it becomes fully operational for its intended purpose.
The contract also comes at a time when Maharashtra is accelerating renewable deployment under its energy transition agenda, prompting more EPC players to take up utility-scale solar projects in the state.
For instance, companies like Ceigall India recently received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (MSEDCL) to develop 147 MW (AC) solar PV generating stations in two districts of Maharashtra.
Similarly, Juniper Green Energy Limited has also commissioned approximately 64 MWp of new renewable energy capacity across two key projects in Gujarat and Maharashtra. This includes a wind power project and the solar component of its hybrid power project in these states.
Scope of Work
With this project, the company further strengthens its credentials in India’s solar EPC space. Vikran Engineering has a presence in power transmission, water, and rail infrastructure.
