Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Issues 100 MW Solar & 60 MW Wind Tender
The Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam (MPJM) has floated two renewable energy tenders — one for a 100 MW solar project and another for a 60 MW wind project in Madhya Pradesh. Bids have been invited with a submission deadline of August 22, 2025.
The electricity generated from both projects will be consumed by MPJM under a Power Supply and Offtake Agreement (PSOA). MPJM, in its tender, mandates the developer to deliver a minimum of 90% of the annual guaranteed energy output (based on a 19% capacity utilization factor) over five consecutive contract years; the offtaker will have the right to terminate the agreement in line with the PSOA terms.
Scope of Work
Under the solar project tender, the selected developer will be responsible for energy accounting from generation to utilization, following prevailing Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) regulations and any amendments made during the tenure of the agreement. The developer must also obtain and maintain Long-Term Open Access (LTOA).
The 60 MW wind power captive tender also allows for a potential extension of capacity by up to 62 MW, depending on the wind turbine generators selected by the bidder.
Both tenders specify a scheduled operation date within 24 months and require an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 50 lakh.
Aligning With Madhya Pradesh Policy
The latest tender by Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam (MPJM) aligns with the state’s renewable energy policy, which targets 20% RE in the state’s energy mix by FY 2024, 30% by FY 2027, and 50% by FY 2030. The policy also aims to incentivize repowering and technological upgrades of renewable energy projects.
