KPI Global Commissions Addl 1.2MW Solar Project in Gujarat

Gujarat-based KPI Global Infrastructure Ltd has commissioned its additional 1.2 MW solar power project in Gujarat under captive power producer (CPP) category.

The project, situated at Sudi village in Bharuch district of Gujarat, has been commissioned effective from November 29, 2019.

For this, the company has received the Certificate of Commissioning from Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).

Besides, it has also received registration certificate from GEDA for setting up of solar ground-mounted power project under Gujarat Solar Power Policy – 2015 for an additional capacity of 20 MW at its existing 40 MW solar plant located at Sudi and Tanchha villages in Bharuch district of Gujarat. Now, the plant capacity has reached an aggregate of 60 MW.

Additionally, the company has also commissioned an additional capacity of 7.5 MW under independent power producer (IPP) category at Sudi and Tanchha villages in Gujarat. With this, the total cumulative capacity under IPP category of the solar power plant in operation had gone up to 40.75 MW.

Further, this 7.5 MW of capacity was commissioned by KPI Global on November 4, 2019 for its industrial customers UPL Ltd and Colourtex Industries Pvt Ltd against their power purchase agreements (PPAs) for capacity of 2.5 MW and 5 MW respectively.

In another significant development, the company had successfully commissioned full capacity of 25 MW of second phase of the solar plant for which it had availed the financial assistance from Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC).
