Kosol Energie Pvt. Ltd. said it will install a 4 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted solar power plant at Mafatlal Industries Ltd.’s manufacturing facility in Nadiad, marking the textile maker’s latest move to increase the use of renewable energy in its operations.
The project, to be executed by Kosol Energie, is expected to generate around 6.5 million units of electricity annually and reduce Mafatlal Industries’ dependence on grid power. The company said the installation would support its long-term sustainability strategy by lowering carbon emissions and improving energy cost stability.
Towards Broader Sustainability
Mafatlal Industries, the flagship company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, has been pursuing energy efficiency and modernization initiatives as part of its broader transition toward more sustainable industrial operations.
“This 4 MW solar project reflects a shared vision for cleaner and more responsible manufacturing,” said Kalpesh Kalthia, chairman and managing director of Kosol Energie, adding that the project underscores growing industrial demand for reliable solar solutions.
Priyavrata Mafatlal, managing director of Mafatlal Industries, said the solar installation aligns with the company’s long-standing focus on responsible growth and resilience. “Clean energy and efficient manufacturing are integral to how we prepare our business for the future,” he said.
Increasing Economic Viability
Kosol Energie said the project highlights the increasing economic viability of solar power for India’s commercial and industrial sector, helping companies reduce operating costs while meeting decarbonisation goals.
Kosol Energie is an Indian solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company and module manufacturer with projects across utility-scale, commercial and industrial, residential and agricultural segments. Mafatlal Industries is one of India’s oldest textile companies, with operations spanning textiles as well as health and hygiene products.
