Indian solar manufacturer and EPC firm Kosol Energie Pvt Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) committing investments of about ₹90,000 crore ($10.8 billion) in renewable energy projects at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026, the company said on Sunday.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and will focus on the development of solar manufacturing, green hydrogen and green ammonia projects, Kosol said.
Investment Plans
Under the MoU, Kosol plans to set up solar module manufacturing facilities, research and development centres, large renewable energy parks and integrated green energy ecosystems in Gujarat. The investments are aligned with India’s clean energy targets and its broader push to expand domestic manufacturing under the government’s self-reliance programmes.
The projects are expected to generate more than 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, the company said, and further strengthen Gujarat’s position as a hub for renewable energy manufacturing.
Scaling Solar Manufacturing
“Kosol sees renewable energy as a key driver of energy security and economic growth,” said Kalpesh Kalthia, chairman and managing director of Kosol Energie. “Our focus is on scaling manufacturing and project execution to support India’s clean energy transition.”
India has set a target of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030, with solar energy expected to account for the largest share of new additions.
Kosol said it is also evaluating renewable energy investment opportunities in other Indian states, as demand for solar power, energy storage and green fuels continues to rise.
