Gujarat For BESS Production

“We are soon coming up with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions. We will offer battery packs and containerised solutions. We are setting up our manufacturing line in Gujarat — a fully automatic line. We are exploring 5 MW of capacity in Gujarat and 5 MW capacity in a southern state. From one year now, we will have 10 MW of containerised BESS solutions ready for the market,” said Kalpesh Kalthia, CMD of Kosol Energie.

He also added, “We will also offer Battery Management Systems (BMS) with these solutions. We will offer complete BESS solutions for the market. BESS solutions will be ready by September next year. We are already done with the software and other things. Procurement is under full swing.”

The company started module manufacturing in 2012 when very few people were making modules. “Now the industry has evolved, and we are not in a rush to increase our capacity. Whatever we do, we try to make the best products. We have focused on quality. We do not have plans to start solar cell manufacturing. We are experts in modules and EPC, and currently, we want to confine ourselves to that,” Kalthia said.

Launch Of 730Wp Modules

Meanwhile, the company recently launched its 730 Wp solar module for the utility-scale market. “We have launched a 730 Wp solar module. This module is going to be used in large commercial and utility-scale projects. This can lead to savings on other components through the use of more efficient solar modules. It can also reduce the space requirement for large projects by around 10 percent. This will be available in the market from January next year,” said Kayan Lakthia, Executive Director of Kosol Energie.
