Noida-based solar company KLK Ventures is now aiming to expand its portfolio. The company, which currently manufactures solar modules and supplies solar pumps and solar streetlights, besides rendering EPC services, has planned to expand. The expansion is targeted at boosting its module capacity. At the same time, it has also planned to venture into new states.

The firm, which has so far confined its production of modules for captive needs, has planned to move into more diversified private projects like rooftop solar and ground-mounted solar projects. Till now, the company was limited to bidding for government projects, which included solar pump projects, solar home lighting systems and solar streetlights, among others.

The in-house production of most of these items has so far helped the firm to boost its business with a good margin. The top management of the company told Saur Energy that it is now all set to increase its market presence in unserved states.

From Maharashtra to MP

“After working with several government projects in Bihar, UP, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and others, this year we entered Maharashtra and bagged an order from MSEDCL for 1,000 solar pumps. Now we have planned to enter Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other states,” Akshat Jain, CEO of the firm, told Saur Energy.

The company is now offering bundled solutions for solar streetlights, solar pumps and home lighting solutions, which the firm says is its USP.

Module Expansion

The company has planned to raise its solar module capacity to 500 MW in the next two years. It is currently manufacturing mono-PERC-based and TOPCon-based solar modules. However, until now, it has confined its production to in-house consumption for the government projects it has bid for.

The firm, which recently executed a 6 MW ground-mounted solar project, plans to undertake private rooftop solar and ground-mounted projects as an EPC firm. It has already created a team to undertake private projects besides its primary focus on government projects in multiple states.

Jain said that it has also won rooftop solar and solar streetlight projects in UP and other regions. When asked about competition, Jain said, “We don’t face competition in manufacturing as most of it is used in-house for our own projects. But yes, in the EPC business, we do face competition, but we are doing fairly well due to the quality of work we do, with the advantage of control over the raw materials we produce at our own end, which ensures timely delivery and maintenance of quality.”
