KPI Green Energy Ltd has signed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts worth ₹696.50 crore (excluding GST) with state-run SJVN Ltd for a 200 MW (AC) solar power project at the GIPCL Renewable Energy Park in Khavda, Gujarat.
The deal marks a significant step in KPI Green’s expansion in utility-scale renewable energy and strengthens its position as a key EPC contractor for large government-backed projects.
Project Scope
Under the agreements, KPI Green will supply all plant and equipment for the 200 MW (AC) project, undertake erection and installation work, and carry out civil, structural and architectural construction. The scope also includes unloading, handling, storage and insurance of equipment, as well as testing, commissioning and performance demonstration until operational acceptance.
The company will also provide comprehensive O&M services for three years after the project’s commercial operation date, including spares and consumables.
The project will be executed through three separate contracts — a Supply Contract, an EPC Contract and an O&M Contract — establishing KPI Green’s turnkey responsibilities during construction and early operations.
Khavda Expansion
The project further expands KPI Green’s presence in the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, which is set to become the world’s largest renewable energy installation. With this addition, the company’s portfolio in the region exceeds 845 MWp (DC).
“We are delighted to finalise the contract with SJVN for the 200 MW project at Khavda,” said Chairman and Managing Director Faruk G. Patel. “Formalising this agreement with a leading Government of India enterprise underscores KPI Green’s credibility and capability in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects. We are committed to delivering the project on time and to the highest quality standards.”
SJVN Ltd, a Mini-Ratna Category-I public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has expanded from hydropower into solar, wind and other renewable segments, with a growing clean-energy portfolio across India.
Founded in 1994 by Faruk G. Patel, KP Group operates in renewable energy, infrastructure and innovation, with projects across wind, solar, hybrid systems, battery storage and green hydrogen. The group has built a strong presence in India’s clean-energy sector and aims to contribute significantly to the country’s energy transition.
