JSW Renewable Energy Acquires 45 MW Maha Wind Farm From Reliance Power Ramboll To Work On Foundations For 1.4 GW Polish Offshore Wind Projects

JSW Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Neo Energy has acquired a 45 MW Vashpet wind project from Reliance Power in Maharashtra’s Sangli. The company announced the acquisition from Reliance Power and further said that the transaction has been executed as a going concern on a slump sale basis.

JSW Energy aims to achieve 20 GW capacity before FY 2030. The transaction is subject to obtaining approvals, including a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency, an NOC from existing lenders of Reliance Power, and an NOC from the power off-taker.

Last week, JSW announced that it has received a letter of award for 500 MW wind capacity from SECI. JSW Neo Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, received the award (LoA) for an additional 500 MW of wind capacity. JSW received this award under the greenshoe option for the SECI wind power projects (Tranche – XVI). After this, the cumulative capacity allotted to JSW Neo under SECI Tranche XVI stands at 1,000 MW. The company’s current installed generation capacity is 7.2 GW, out of which 1.6 GW is wind.

JSW also announced its collaboration with MG Motor a luxury SUV cars provider in India through a joint venture. This collaboration between MG Motor and JSW Group aims to sell one million electric vehicles in India by 2030 and capture a third of the market. The joint venture, according to the two businesses, intends to enter the luxury passenger vehicle market as it introduces the “Cyberster EV,” a sports car.

JSW was also among the four firms that won the bid that was issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) regarding 1.5 GW firm and dispatchable renewable energy from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) -connected projects.
