EVs Driving MG’s Monthly Sales Boom

Electric vehicles now constitute over 70 percent of MG’s monthly sales, a sharp jump from 35 percent just over a year ago.

For the full financial year, electric vehicles are expected to comprise roughly half of the company’s total sales. The sales surge began with MG’s initial offering, the ZS EV, and gained momentum after the arrival of the compact Comet EV in April 2023.

The breakthrough, however, came in September 2024 with the launch of the Windsor — more recently joined by the long-range Windsor Pro, a direct rival to Tata’s Nexon EV.

From April to September 2025, MG delivered 26,640 electric vehicles, marking a 220 percent increase compared to the previous year for the same period. The company’s sales results reinforce its ambitious target of having EVs account for 70-80 percent of overall sales volumes.

In 2025, MG entered the premium electric vehicle segment under its MG Select portfolio, introducing the Cyberster roadster and M9 MPV.
