FY 2025-26: IREDA, MNRE Sign Performance MoU With ₹8,200 Cr Revenue Target
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has signed a performance-based Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), setting operational and financial targets for FY 2025-26.
As per the MoU, the government has fixed a revenue from operations target of ₹8,200 crore for the year. IREDA had exceeded its FY25 target, reporting ₹6,743.32 crore in revenue against the prescribed ₹5,957 crore. The MoU also specifies performance benchmarks including Return on Net Worth, Return on Capital Employed, NPA to Total Loans, Asset Turnover Ratio and EBITDA.
The agreement was signed between Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE, and Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director, IREDA, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi in the presence of senior ministry and company officials.
Targeted Revenue From Operation
“Ireda has earned an ‘Excellent’ rating in MoU performance for four consecutive years since FY21. For FY24, it emerged as the top performer in the NBFC and power sector and among the top four CPSEs overall, as per the Department of Public Enterprises,” CMD Das said."
Snapshot of Last Financial Results
In Q1 FY26, IREDA reported a 29% year-on-year jump in operational revenue to ₹1,947 crore, compared to ₹1,510 crore a year earlier. However, profit before tax declined to ₹305 crore from ₹476 crore in the same period last year. Consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹1,948 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.
Loan disbursement and sanctions also recorded strong growth. The agency sanctioned ₹11,740 crore in loans in Q1, up 29% from ₹9,136 crore in the year-ago period. Outstanding loans rose 27% year-on-year to ₹79,941 crore, against ₹63,207 crore last year.
