Insolation Begins Work On ₹1,600 Cr Solar Cell Plant in MP, Starts 3 GW Unit in Rajasthan
Insolation Energy Limited (INA), through its subsidiary Insolation Green Energy, has initiated construction of a 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility and an 18,000 MT aluminium frame unit in Narmadapuram district, Madhya Pradesh. The company performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the project on August 25.
The upcoming facility, spread over 45 acres at the Manufacturing Zone for Power and Renewable, Mohasa Babai, will entail an investment of about ₹1,600 crore. According to INA, the project is expected to generate over 1,600 direct and indirect jobs, boosting local employment and contributing to the renewable energy supply chain.
The ceremony was attended by Manish Gupta, Chairman & Whole-Time Director, and Vikas Jain, Managing Director, Insolation Energy, along with senior dignitaries. The Madhya Pradesh plant marks a significant move away from Rajasthan for the Jaipur based INA, besides adding yet one more manufacturing project in Madhya Pradesh, which is emerging as a key manufacturing hub beyond the traditional strongholds of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu for Solar. Jakson Engineers has also announced a major plan for the state.
Capacity Expansion in Rajasthan
Parallelly, INA has commenced operations at its new 3 GW PV module manufacturing plant located along the Delhi-Ajmer Expressway in Jaipur, Rajasthan. With this, the group’s total operational module capacity has reached 4 GW.
“This will be our fourth manufacturing facility and the first outside Rajasthan. The new facility will strengthen our ability to cater to rising demand for solar modules across India,” said Gupta.
Jain added, “This venture reflects our confidence in the long-term future of India’s solar industry. Partnering with Madhya Pradesh for this project marks a significant milestone in our growth journey.”
