Inox Wind Bags 3 MW-Class Turbines Order For First Energy’s 51 MW Tamil Nadu Project
Inox Wind Limited (IWL), a wind energy solutions provider, has clinched a 51 MW order from First Energy Private Limited (FEPL), a Thermax Group company and a renewable energy solutions provider in the commercial & industrial (C&I) space in India. This is the first order awarded by FEPL to Inox Wind for the supply of IWL’s 3-MW class turbines featuring 140-meter hub height and rotor diameter of 145 meters.
Under this project, FEPL will set up these turbines at its project site being developed in Tamil Nadu through its SPV, First Energy 10 Private Limited. Additionally, the order scope includes limited-scope EPC services for the project, including supervision, as well as multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) services post-commissioning of the WTGs, to be implemented through the IWL’s subsidiaries.
Commenting on this occasion, Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO, Inox Wind Ltd., said, "We are thrilled to commence our relationship with First Energy through this 51 MW order, which we believe will be the first of many as we build on our relationship going ahead. First Energy, a Thermax Group company, is a fast-growing player in India’s burgeoning commercial & industrial (C&I) RE power market. We believe that our partnership will enable First Energy to scale up its offerings rapidly."
Inox Wind Transition to 3 MW Turbines
"Inox Wind has installed the 3 MW Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) prototype in FY23 and completed the transition to 3 MW WTG production in FY24," the company shared these details in an investor's presentation. Moreover, the wind energy company has set an execution target to add more than 1,200 MW. "Currently, Inox Wind's order book stands at 3.2 GW, and its execution targets are backed by a large existing order book and a strong pipeline of orders," it added.
