Green Stocks Sep 9- Waaree RTL Rides Order, Manufacturers Gain

Strong gains for Vikram Solar capped off a strong day for solar manufacturers as Waaree Energies, Alpex Solar, and Premier Energies all gained on a slow, careful day for green stocks. With EPC firms and some developers also possibly weighed down by the eventual impact of the GST cuts on their operations, it was left to these firms to fly high. Waaree RTL, on the other hand, gained from the announcement of a large order win announced during market hours. 

The next trigger might yet be the results of Vikram Solar, due later today. A strong show will certainly support the resilience seen in the stock prices of solar manufacturers at least.

With mid-week arriving tomorrow, it will be very interesting to see if the market can sustain these gains, as both green stocks and the broader markets have repeatedly stalled at these levels so far. This was amply evident from the way Acme Solar slipped, before recovering somewhat to retain the Rs 300 levels, but only just.  It's a somewhat similar story for SJVN, which has been beaten down to well below Rs 100 levels, NTPC Green, which seems anchored to a range between Rs 100-105, or even wind energy firm Suzlon, which reacts every time it gets close to Rs 60. 

Either way, it is these moves within the pack that make it a little more interesting to track these firms, and we look forward to a really interesting week ahead.
