Green Stocks Sep 17- Stocks Lag behind Market Indices

The Green pack struggled to maintain momentum, clearly underperforming on the day. While most of the key indices from the Nifty to the mid-cap or even small-cap indices managed to show some growth today, the green pack slipped up broadly. Stocks like Waaree RTL that did rise seem to be more of a technical pullback, as there are no signs of sustained momentum yet. 

The absence or selling by FIIs first, and now even falling SIPs from the retail segment, which had done so much to sustain the market, seem to be falling off, making it very difficult for the market to make a decisive move. Key stock-specific levels, be it Rs 60 for Suzlon. Rs 105 for NTPC Green or even Rs 980 for Adani Green have held up strongly, with these stocks unable to retain gains past these levels. 

The newest IPO from the solar sector, Saatvik Solar, also opens tomorrow, and it should be very interesting to see how investors respond. Hopes are obviously high, considering the high response to the Vikram Solar IPO earlier last month, but as a newer player and based out of Haryana, this should still be an interesting one to track. 
The IPO pipeline remains strong, which has made us look at just what it takes for an investor to evaluate a solar firm well, so keep watching this space for that story to come shortly. Perhaps even this weekend.
