Green Stocks Oct 7: More Loss Than Gains For Clean Energy Firms
On a day when the Nifty and Sensex opened marginally higher, reflecting a broadly positive market sentiment, the clean energy sector continued to experience a turbulent run. Most renewable energy stocks remained under pressure, with only a handful managing to post modest gains.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to show caution amid currency fluctuations and shifting global cues. While domestic investors attempted to provide some stability, clean energy counters appeared largely unmoved by the broader market optimism.
Among the few gainers were Waaree Renewables Technologies Ltd, the EPC arm of the Waaree Group, and wind energy firms Suzlon Energy and Inox Wind, though their upticks were marginal. JSW Energy and NTPC Green also recorded slight gains. Apart from these, most other sectoral stocks ended lower, with Oswal Pumps witnessing the sharpest decline of around 3%.
