Green Stocks Sep 6: Stocks Caught Up In Market Volatility

On a day when the markets were even more schizophrenic than usual, swinging between moods, the green pack tripped up, with no stock really benefiting from the final closing numbers seen, other than the odd jump in Oswal Pumps, and to a lesser extent, Saatvik Solar. Incidentally, both Haryana-based firms that have been listed in the recent past. For Saatvik, it was an important recovery to go past its IPO price. 

There was no such joy for investors in NTPC Green or Acme Solar, both of which continue to trade below their IPO prices. 

Most other stocks escaped with relatively small losses, with no clarity on when the momentum might shift. 

A spate of recent headlines on tender cancellations due to various reasons will have made many investors nervous, as they realise that large pipelines or bulging order books may not always mean revenues to follow like clockwork. However, the listing of Pace Digitek, a storage first firm, indicates the direction of things to come, as storage becomes critical to renewables expansion. These projects are expected to move much faster from here on.  

For the broader market, it seems all about clarity post Q2 results, allied with actual numbers on the ground
