Green Stocks Oct 23- Mixed Day For Stocks After Break

The markets opened to strong gains in the first half, before surrendering some of those later in the day. For our green pack, the movements reflected in the pack showing as well, with every gain matched by a loss somewhere. 

The most interesting story, of course, is Waaree Energies, whose strategy of diversifying across the renewable supply chain seems to have found fresh takers, including FIIs, which has helped the stock recover all its losses from early last week. Other key module firms like Saatvik Green Energy also seem to be keen to expand to BESS and other categories, something that will play out only later next year. For now, it will be sentiment that drives these stocks, as growth numbers temper down a bit, thanks to the higher bases established this year.

EPC stocks continue to wait for a stronger momentum to take them places, as most have given up the gains they made, despite disappointing results in the case of Waaree RTL. Sterling and Wilson Renewable made it difficult for itself with its continuing legal issues, despite a strong order book and operational numbers as well. 

Among green developers, while Tata Power has regained the Rs 400 levels, so has NTPC Green with a close around Rs 100. In contrast to Acme Solar, which gave up gains it had made again. 

With many Q2 results to be announced, the green pack continues to offer a tantalising chance of strong gains if the broader markets hold, with what appears to be lower chances of unpleasant surprises for investors for now. Keep watching this space to track it all.
