Green Stocks Oct 16- Diwali Comes Early For Green Pack

Today was more notable for stocks that failed to move up than for the ones that did rise, as most of the green pack gained along with the rest of the markets. The ones that missed out, notably Wind players Suzlon, Inox Wind, will hope for a better day tomorrow. A strong rise today, along with the broader market rise, finally seems to be sending a signal that the extended phase of range-bound trading might be coming to an end.

A completion of an India-US trade deal, major or mini, would help remove the last of the worries for many, especially with FII buying also seen to have made a comeback would prime the market for a fresh run, something investors badly need after the extended sell-off and low returns. But there remain enough points of worry, not least of which is the record highs being seen in Gold and Silver prices, which certainly do not indicate investors with high confidence in the immediate future. US markets have been surprisingly resilient, and the odds of a severe correction, stock market-obsessed President or not, remain there as well. Indian markets, even as they are much better placed as compared to a year back on valuations, will have an eye there as well. For the green pack, it is about the financial numbers as well as the outlook, with many media reports flagging the risk of overcapacity.
