Green stocks had a tough day, along with the market today, as almost all the stocks fell. The only high performer was Waaree Energies, and the newly listed Oswal Pump still seemed to be buoyed by new investors. For investors who entered these stocks in the recent past in the hopes of a revival, this must be disappointing, but it might be more important for them to be a little patient. As we mentioned earlier, even though Q1 results have been good, stocks haven't reflected that—partially due to their already rich valuations, but also due to the broader uncertainty around the market. Most of these factors are beyond the control of green energy firms and, eventually, as the market turns, one can expect high performance from most of these firms.
Among the green stock pack, companies like Adani Green and Borosil Renewables saw over a 2% dip in their stock prices. On the other hand, Sterling and Wilson, wind energy company Suzlon, and Alpex Solar saw marginal gains today in their stock prices.
